Common Refusal Reasons We Can Help With

  • Partner visa relationship evidence rejected
  • Skilled or employer-sponsored visa points issues
  • Protection visa credibility concerns
  • GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) refusal for Student or Visitor visa
  • Character or health-based visa cancellations
  • Sponsor obligations or compliance concerns

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q1. Can I stay in Australia while my appeal is being processed?

Yes, in most cases, lodging an AAT appeal gives you a Bridging Visa that allows you to remain lawfully in Australia until a decision is made.

  • Q2. How long does an appeal take?

Processing times vary depending on the type of visa. On average, AAT reviews take 6–18 months. Ministerial Intervention cases may take longer.

  • Q3. What happens if my appeal is unsuccessful?

If the AAT upholds the refusal, you may still apply for Ministerial Intervention or explore other visa options. Our team will guide you on your next steps.

  • Q4. Do I need to attend the hearing?

Usually, yes. Most appeals include a hearing where you can explain your case. We prepare you thoroughly and attend with you for support.

  • Q5. Can I lodge an appeal from outside Australia?

In most cases, AAT appeals are only available to applicants inside Australia at the time of decision. Offshore applicants may need to reapply instead.
